Spring is one of my favorite seasons for family photography, and this session at McFarlane Nature Park was the perfect example of why. I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet family of three—mom, dad, and their adorable 11-month-old daughter—on a sunny spring afternoon surrounded by blooming trees and peaceful natural scenery.
McFarlane Nature Park, located in East Cobb, offers a beautiful mix of open fields, wooded paths, and rustic charm. It’s one of my go-to spots for family sessions in Marietta because it feels tucked away and serene, yet it’s so easy to access. The soft spring light and natural backdrops made it ideal for capturing both posed portraits and candid, in-the-moment images that this family will cherish for years to come.
We started with some classic family portraits, making sure to include a variety of groupings and angles. Their baby girl was full of curiosity and smiles—especially when we let her explore and play. Some of my favorite moments came when we simply let her interact naturally with her parents. The cuddles, giggles, and tiny hand-holds made for the kind of genuine, candid images families love most.
At just 11 months old, this little one was right at that sweet stage where she's full of personality and discovery, but still loves to be held and snuggled. It's such a perfect time to document before the toddler stage fully sets in.
If you're looking to schedule a spring family photo session in Marietta or Atlanta, McFarlane Nature Park is a wonderful option. I specialize in relaxed, family-centered photography that highlights real connection and joy. Scroll down to see some of the sweetest moments from this spring session!
